Welcome to the homepage of the Theory Group of Finite Systems and Cluster physics at the Physics Department of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. Our research is focused on the quantum mechanics and thermodynamics and statistical physics of finite systems, e.g. atomic and molecular clusters, ferrofluid clusters, finite magnetic systems and Bose-Einstein condensates. Besides pure pencil work we develop(ed) large Fortran, C and Java program codes for Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo, Path Integral Monte Carlo and Optimized data analysis running on massively parallel computers.
Another research topic of our group is Information Management in Physics. We develop and maintain useful tools like PhysDep, PhysDiss, PhysDoc and MetaPhys.
Much fun is a project with students building toy robots.
